About Us
Hello! My name is Kelly Caisse and I am the owner of KDCROP Farms in Chaplin in the Northeast Corner of CT. We have been growing vegetables and fruit and turning them into delicious jams, pickles, relish and salsa since 2006. We also grow with organic techniques and hand tools!
After all of these years, we have developed a great value proposition. KDCROP Farms produces a line of tasty, expertly produced food accents boasting a variety of familiar and exotic flavors of relishes, pickles, jams and salsas that are farm raised, handmade and naturally grown in the Last Green Valley in CT for the garden fresh, farm to table experience.
Over the past 15 years we have been gaining more and more experience of developing our crops and recipes.
It wasn’t until 2019 that we really got serious in promoting our condiments to the bigger world outside of our community. I received a farmer scholarship to use a local commercial kitchen in Windham called CLiCK free of expenses for one year. This helped us substantially increase our volume of products. Then in 2021, I joined the Collab/Cityseed FBA Course to figure out how to make our food business soar! 2022 we are reaching out to online platforms and stores.
Our main way of connecting with customers has been our 4 farmers markets that are only within 20 min of our farm and the CitySeed Wooster Square Market in New Haven 1 hour away. We are ready to try out more markets and new partnerships!
The bigger picture for us is to enhance our production of crops on the farm and scale up our jamming/pickling enterprise, eventually seating ourselves in a permanent certified kitchen. Hiring employees to help us become more efficient. Double our supply of product this year. Start and grow partnerships with chefs, caterers, food trucks, small shops and food cooperatives. We are always up to sending out samples.
